THE STORY
G Rockett Phillips isn't a tech startup.
He's a 30+ year broadcasting veteran, a Meisner-trained, award-winning director/actor with prime-time/day-time TV credits — and a celebrity photographer who's stood two feet from Muhammad Ali, Robin Williams, and Sharon Stone with a camera in his hand.
When AI video generation arrived, he didn't see a novelty. He saw a cinematographer's toolkit — one that could finally match what was in his head without a $200K crew budget behind it.
Digital Pirate AI was born out of a simple observation: most brands can't afford cinematic storytelling. Most AI shops can't deliver it. We live in that gap.
BEFORE DIGITAL PIRATE AI... THERE WAS HOLLYWOOD.
After a 9 year stint as an actor on stage, daytime, and episodic TV. Rockett turned his focus to the production side of things.
As a casting associate in Los Angeles, Rockett shot and managed casting sessions for some of the most celebrated directors in film history — Ridley Scott. Tony Scott. Adrian Lyne. David Fincher. Joe Pytka. Norman Seeff. Leslie Dektor. He wasn't watching from the back of the room. He was behind the camera.
He also guest lectured at UCLA's Theater Department — teaching swashbuckling and stage combat to student actors.

Started at 18 — WMC-FM100 Memphis. Five years trolling radio audiences coast to coast — Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham, San Juan, and back again.
Acting Veteran — One Life to Live. Guiding Light. Days of Our Lives. Guest starred on Taxi, Knight Rider, Hill Street Blues, Flamingo Road and more.
Hollywood Headshot Artist — Opened an LA photography studio shooting actor headshots for working Hollywood talent.
Billboard Nominated — The Rockett in the Morning Show at KQKQ/Sweet 98 earned a Billboard Morning Show Personality of the Year nomination in the '90s.
Godfather of the Podcast — After a contract dispute, took his radio show to this new thing called the Internet. One of the very first live podcasts. Ever.
Rockett Studios Arizona — Relocated the photography business to Scottsdale, shooting for POST USA Magazine.
Nashville Called — Nash Rockett was born, along with The Daily Nash and The Almost Famous podcasts.
Plot Twist — Emergency triple coronary bypass. Enough said. All good.
Destin — Moved the studio to the sugar-white beaches of the Gulf Coast of Florida. Never looked back.
